1960s

  • 1. 1964 – Carl Rasmussen leaves the L.M. Wilson Company and purchases International T.D. 24 and becomes the owner and operator in Simi Valley, CA
  • 2. 1965 – Larry Rasmussen, the first employee, is “hired”
  • 3. 1966 - Purchase assets of Marian W. Wright Company in Littlerock, CA
  • 4. 1966 - Company relocates to Antelope Valley, CA
  • 5. 1967 – C. A. Rasmussen, Inc. acquires state contractors license C-12 Grading and Paving
  • 6. 1968 – California state contractors “A” license issued
  • 7. 1969 – Purchase assets of L.M. Wilson Company
  • 8. 1969 - Office is opened in Simi Valley, CA

1970s

  • 1. 1970 – Magic Mountain Parkway contract is awarded to C. A. Rasmussen, Inc.
  • 2. 1972 – Construction of Lost Hills irrigation canal 917 miles
  • 3. 1977 – Carl Rasmussen announces his retirement
  • 4. 1978 – Delivery of Caterpillar D-10 Crawler tractor, the first delivered to a California contractor

1980s

  • 1. 1987 – 25 million cubic yards of dirt moved on the Northbridge project in Valencia, CA
  • 2. 1989 – 600 cubic yards of curb and gutter poured in one day
  • 3. 1989 - CA Rasmussen Celebrates 25th Anniversary

1990s

  • 1. 1990 – Awarded the Simi Valley/Thousand Oaks freeway (Route 118/23)
  • 2. 1991 – Office opened in Corona, CA
  • 3. 1994 – Landfill Division is created
  • 4. 1995 – Rail Division and the Carlsbad San Diego Division is created
  • 5. 1996 – Contractor of the Year Award presented to C. A. Rasmussen by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

2000s

  • 1. 2000 – C. A. Rasmussen, Inc. restructures its operations
  • 2. 2002 – Dean Rasmussen named Chairman of the Board
  • 3. 2002 - Charlie Rasmussen named President
  • 4. 2004 – C. A. Rasmussen, Inc. celebrates its 40th Anniversary
  • 5. 2004 - Dean Rasmussen shares are bought out by C. A. Rasmussen, Inc., making Charlie Rasmussen single share holder
  • 6. 2004 - Awarded contract to build Seabridge residential development
  • 7. 2005 – Adam Rasmussen becomes minority share holder of C. A. Rasmussen, Inc.
  • 8. 2007 – Awarded contract for Caltrans 118 Freeway widening
  • 9. 2007 - Company moves into new headquarters in Valencia, CA

2010s

  • 1. 2010 – Charlie Rasmussen Elected President of Southern California Contractors Association
  • 2. 2010 - Contractor of the Year awarded to C.A. Rasmussen by Southern California Contractors Association
  • 2. 2011 - C.A. Rasmussen hits 2 year milestone with no lost time incidents 
  • 3. 2011 - General Contractor of the Year awarded to C.A. Rasmussen by American Subcontractor Association
